The magician removes two polished stones, one brown and one blue, from a drawstring bag. Reaching back into the bag he also removes a simple brown stick. Explaining that the stick has unusual properties, or maybe the stones have unusual properties (nobody is really sure), he offers a demonstration. When the brown stick is waved over the brown stone nothing happens. However, when the brown stick is waved over the blue stone, the stick suddenly changes to blue on both sides! Waving the stick back over the brown stone it changes back to brown on both sides. What happens when the stick is waved over both stones simultaneously? The stick becomes blue on one side and brown on the other!
